A cave was found some distance from where Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, it could become a new place for astronauts

Cave found on the moon:

Scientists have confirmed the existence of a cave on the Moon, not far from the spot where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed 55 years ago. According to scientists, there may be hundreds more caves in which astronauts could take shelter in the future.

What did the scientists say?

A team led by Italian scientists reported that evidence of a large cave has been found on the Moon. It is located in the ‘Sea of Tranquility’, just 250 miles (400 kilometers) from the Apollo 11 landing site.

The crater, like more than 200 other craters discovered there, was formed by the collapse of a lava tube. The researchers analysed radar measurements by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and compared the results with lava tubes on Earth. Their findings are published in the journal ‘Nature Astronomy’.

Recently, the news also came out that the moon is moving away from the Earth every year. Scientists have found in their research that the distance between the moon and the Earth is increasing every year. According to the American space agency NASA, the moon is slowly moving away from the Earth at a rate of 3.8 cm every year.

Experts believe that the reason for the Moon moving away from the Earth may be the ‘Milanevich cycle’. These cycles refer to a very small deviation in the shape of the Earth’s orbit and its axis.
