PM Modi Meets Indian Athletes Of Paris Olympics At His Residence In Delhi; PM Modi Celebrates India’s Paris Olympic 2024 Achievements

PM Modi meets Indian Athletes of Paris Olympics:

India got only 6 medals in the Olympics, which include 1 silver and 5 bronze medals. A 117-member Indian athletes went to Paris for the Olympics. Most of the Indian athletes have returned home. The Indian hockey team, including many players, also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Thursday, 15 August.

The biggest Maha Kumbh of sports has concluded. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the Indian Paris Olympics team at his residence in New Delhi during Independence Day on August 15, 2024. During this visit he engaged and congratulated the Indian athletes for their hard work and personal contributions to this great achievement. 

Prime Minister gave a short speech about how proud he was of these people’s mettle that brought them glory by grabbing six medals in total among which were 1 silver medal alongside 5 bronze medals.

Indian athletes also gave many gifts to PM Modi. Shooter Manu Bhaker gave a pistol to PM Modi, while wrestler Aman Sehrawat and the hockey team handed over jerseys. These jerseys had the signatures of the players. Indian hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh presented a hockey stick to the PM on behalf of his team. During this, the PM also addressed all the players.

However, some athletes have not yet returned home. Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is in Germany, where he is to undergo surgery. Wrestler Vinesh Phogat will return to India on August 17. Badminton player PV Sindhu also could not be a part of this event. Sindhu missed out on making a historic hat-trick by losing in the Round of 16 during the Paris Olympics.
