Turkey banned social media app Instagram:

The European country Turkey has banned the social media app Instagram. In an order issued on August 2, the Turkish government has blocked the domain of Instagram. The government has not given any explanation regarding the ban.

Turkey’s National Communication Authority posted this information on its website. After the order, many people in Turkey posted on X complaining about Instagram feed not loading.

Fahrettin Altun, communications director at the Turkish presidential office, on Wednesday accused Instagram’s parent company Meta of preventing people from posting condolence messages marking the death of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh.

Ismail Haniyeh died on Tuesday in Iran’s capital Tehran. He was killed in an attack by Israel. Haniyeh was also close to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
