RJD-JDU clashed over Waqf Bill
Preparations are going on for the assembly elections to be held in Bihar in October-November, while in Parliament, there has been a terrible political storm in the state after the Waqf Bill is passed. While defending himself, JDU claimed that it supported the law only after JPC accepted all its five major recommendations. Party spokesperson Anjum Ara included keeping the land under the state list, ensuring that the law is implemented hardly, preserving the status of religious structures on unregistered Waqf land, extending the post of disputes resolving disputes and extending the time limit of digitization.
Tejashwi swear, the governor said this
Describing this bill as “unconstitutional”, RJD officer Tejashwi Yadav vowed that if the grand alliance came to power, it would be abolished. “This bill will not apply at any cost, it will be thrown into the dustbin,” he said.
While working to add ghee to the fire, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan supported the bill and described it as an essential improvement. He asked, “Which Waqf Board is actually serving the poor – running an orphanage or hospital?” He argued that Waqf properties should be used for public good.
