A video showing the arrest of a person by the police on social media is viral. Users are sharing it by linking it with the incident of attempting to break the statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar on Republic Day in Amritsar.

Boom investigated the claim and found that this video is of another incident in Raipur. It has nothing to do with the incident of Amarsisar. We also received several media reports of this incident in Raipur after searching a kefreme of viral video on social media with Google lens.

The report quoted the police as saying, ‘Accused Ajay Singh attacked senior advocate Durgesh Sharma on 16 January 2025. On the complaint of the victim’s lawyer, Khamtarai police registered an FIR and arrested the accused youth. After this, on 17 January 2025, the police was going to present the accused in the court, when the police was assaulted with the accused amid the custody.
