Israel Retaliates:
Israel Attack: A day after Houthi rebels carried out a deadly drone attack on the city of Tel Aviv, Israel retaliated by attacking several bases of the rebel group in western Yemen. The Israeli army gave this information. This appears to be the first attack by Israel on Yemeni soil since the war between Israel and Hamas began in October. The Israeli army said that several of its bases were attacked in the western port city of Hudaydah, considered a stronghold of the Houthi. It said that this action was taken in response to hundreds of attacks on Israel in recent months.
Fuel storage and power plants targeted
Mohammad Abdulsalam, a spokesman for the Houthi rebel group, said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ that “Israeli attacks” were carried out on Yemen, targeting fuel storage facilities and power plants. Abdulsalam said that Israel wanted to increase the suffering of the people with these attacks. He said that these attacks were also carried out to put pressure on Yemen to stop supporting Gaza. Abdulsalam said that these attacks will make the people of Yemen and its armed forces even stronger to support Gaza.
Many deadly attacks will be carried out in response
Mohammad Ali al-Houthi of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen said in a post on ‘X’, “Many deadly attacks will be carried out in response.” Al-Masirah TV, a media group controlled by Houthi rebels in Yemen, reported that Israel targeted oil and diesel storage facilities and local power companies at the port, killing several people and severely injuring many. It said that the attack caused a fire at the port and disrupted power supply. Health officials in Yemen said that several people were killed and others were injured in the Israeli attack, but they did not give detailed information about this.
