ECG based biometric feature
According to the new report of Apple Insider, Apple is working on a biometric feature based on ECG i.e. heart rate for its devices. This feature can be found in your iPhone, iPad and Mac soon. According to the report, every person’s heart beats with a unique rhythm. Just like a biometric i.e. fingerprint sensor, the heartbeat can be used to unlock the device. The rhythm of the heartbeat can be monitored through the ECG app provided in Apple Watch. Apple can use this unique rhythm of heartbeats as a user’s identity.
Will work with Apple Watch
This new technology will work when you link Apple Watch with your iPhone or other device. Apple Watch users will be able to unlock their device through the rhythm of their heartbeats using the ECG app.
According to the report, this new technology will provide an additional layer of security in iPhone, iPad or Mac. Users will now be able to open their devices through face unlock or fingerprint and password as well as heart rate rhythm. However, there is no official information available as to when this technology will be launched commercially.
