In the 7th Salana Award 2024, Indian Hockey celebrated the completion of 100 years. Hockey India honored the members of the 1975 World Cup winning teams with a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh with Hockey India Major Dhyanchand Lifetime Achievement Award. At the same time, captain Hermanpreet Singh and Savita Punia were given the title of Player of the Year.
Let us know that a record prize money of Rs 12 crore was kept in Indian hockey, which was the biggest amount in the history of Hockey India annual award so far. Savita and Harmpreet Singh were honored with the Hockey India Balbir Singh Senior Award for the best player of 2024 in women and men class respectively.
At the same time, PR Sreejesh, who retired from India hockey team, was awarded a reward of Rs 5 lakh as FIH Mains goalkeeper of the year 2024. Deepika was awarded the Bihar Women Asian Champions Trophy 2024, the highest goal scorer in Rajgir and Rs 1 lakh for the tournament’s best Khildi.
