3 more cancer treatment drugs has been exempted from custom duty. A big announcement pertaining to health department has been made in this Union budget 2024. While giving a speech on Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that there is a lot of special things in the budget for cancer patients. It has been announced to make custom duty free on three cancer treatment drugs, due to which the price of cancer drugs will come down.

The Finance Minister said in his budget speech that proposals will be brought to rationalize and simplify the customs duty rates on drugs on a large scale. Apart from this, BCD (Basic Customs Duty) on mobile phones and their parts will be reduced to 15%.

This decision is a big relief for patients suffering from serious and life-threatening diseases like cancer. Now there will be no need to spend a lot of money on expensive medicines for diseases like cancer. This big decision of the Modi government is being highly appreciated.
