How did malaria come under control?
According to Dr. Rajni Kant Srivastava, head of the disease eradication department at the Indian Medical Education Research Valley, ICMR, it has been possible to control this disease in India due to the combination medicine of artemisinin (ACT) and long-acting insecticide (LLIN). The advantage of this treatment is that artemisinin first kills the malaria bacteria by attacking a protein, and the second drug kills the remaining bacteria. With the help of ACT, success is achieved in controlling malaria. With its help, it has also helped in reducing the number of deaths due to this disease.
