The family members of the victim expressed grief over the grant of bail to two accused in the case of rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The parents of the junior doctor expressed disappointment over the CBI investigation. He said that we are saddened by the grant of bail to two suspects. The system has let us down. At the same time, the doctors demanding justice for the deceased junior doctor also said that they are disappointed, but will not back down. On the completion of four months of the RG Kar Medical College incident, junior doctors paid tribute to the victim junior doctor at the memorial.

In fact, in the case of rape and murder of a junior doctor in RG Kar Medical College, Sealdah Court on Friday granted bail to former medical college principal Sandeep Ghosh and former officer in-charge of Tala police station Abhijeet Mandal. The court said that CBI could not file the charge sheet against both of them in 90 days. Therefore bail has been granted.

Regarding this, the victim’s mother said that we thought that CBI would speed up the investigation and those responsible would be punished. But now after the accused has been granted bail, it seems that the system is failing us. “Every day we wonder whether this will be another case in which powerful people get away with impunity,” he said. The victim’s father said that we are sad. We had trusted CBI for justice, but now we are wondering whether our daughter will ever get justice?

Junior doctor said – we will make the next strategy

Doctors who were protesting across the country regarding the case of rape and murder of a junior doctor also appeared disappointed when the accused were granted bail. Junior doctors expressed disappointment over the pace of CBI investigation. Junior doctor Aniket Mahato, who is leading the protests, said that we are extremely disappointed with the speed with which the CBI is handling the case. The system is failing us. The accused are roaming freely. The delay in justice is a slap on the face of all those fighting for accountability. Mahato said that we are firm on our resolve for justice. We will not back down. We will soon prepare for our next action and intensify the fight for justice.
