After years, a film has been released in theaters which is completely family oriented. After ‘Gadar 2’, Anil Sharma has once again presented the pairing of Simrat Kaur with his son Utkarsh Sharma on the big screen. Nana Patekar starrer ‘Vanvas’ was released in theaters on 20 December 2024. The film is excellent, worth watching with the entire family and most importantly, it also gives a big message. So let us know how the film ‘Vanvas’ is.

The story begins in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, where an old man named Deepak Tyagi (Nana Patekar) lives with his three married sons. Deepak loved his wife very much, but now she is no more in this world. With increasing age, Deepak has become amnesiac, he only remembers his wife and small children, he knows that his three sons have grown up and all of them are married and now they also have children.

The house where Deepak lives with his children is in the posh area of Palampur and he wants to convert this house into a trust, which his sons and daughters-in-law do not like. So with complete planning everyone leaves Deepak for Banaras. Due to his weak memory, he keeps searching for his wife and young sons in unknown places. Meanwhile, he meets a thug Veeru (Utkarsh Sharma). Veeru wants to get rid of Deepak Tyagi, but this is not possible. Now the question is whether Deepak Tyagi will be able to go back to his home? To know this you will have to go to the theater and watch the entire film.

The film is special for its heart-touching story, written by Anil Sharma. He has beautifully woven humor, confrontation and forgiveness into the story. Nana Patekar is at the center of the story. Exile focuses on emotions, but doesn’t make it overly dramatic. The story connects deeply with the audience and makes every smile and tear feel real. Anil Sharma’s direction brings life to these moments, due to which the story of the film keeps you engaged from beginning to end.

If we talk about acting then everyone’s acting becomes weak in front of Nana Patekar. Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur have also worked hard, but they still need to work harder in acting. Talking about the shortcomings, the first half keeps you engaged, but in the second half the pace of the film slows down a bit. At the same time, it would have been better if more work had been done on dialogue delivery in the film.

However, the cinematography of the film beautifully depicts the family atmosphere, which further enhances the personal feeling of the film. The background music matches the emotional ups and downs of the film perfectly, making the experience even more profound. After ‘Gadar 2’, Anil Sharma once again gave the responsibility of music to Mithun Sharma, but the songs of the film will definitely disappoint you a bit. I would like to say that ‘Vanvas’ is not just a film, it is a mirror of our lives, which shows us the fragility and strength of human relationships. This film is 3.5 stars from my side.
