By-elections on nine seats of UP

By-elections are to be held on nine assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning. There is a direct contest between Yogi and Akhilesh on these seats. This election is being considered as the semi-final of the upcoming assembly elections. Both BJP and SP have put all their efforts in the by-elections, because the by-elections on these seats have become a battle of credibility for both the parties. This by-election in UP is the semi-final of 2027, which will decide the path to the throne of power in UP. This election will prove to be a litmus test for UP as to who will be the next CM, Yogi Adityanath or Akhilesh Yadav.

Direct contest between CM Yogi and Akhilesh

Yogi Adityanath’s Bantenge to Katenge slogan which is resonating in Maharashtra elections today, which started from UP and is being used in Haryana, Jharkhand and then Maharashtra also. At the same time, this battle is also about Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA formula, on the basis of which Akhilesh Yadav won more seats than BJP in UP in the Lok Sabha elections. In this by-election, there is a contest between 90 candidates on nine seats and on all nine seats there is a triangular contest between BJP-SP and BSP, but the direct contest is only between BJP and SP.

Which party has given ticket to whom?

If we talk about the 2022 elections on these nine seats, then Samajwadi Party has 4 seats, NDA has 5 seats, BJP has three seats and allies have two seats. While Akhilesh has played the Muslim card in the distribution of tickets, BJP has bet on OBCs. BJP has fielded maximum 5 OBC candidates, while one is Dalit and 3 are from upper caste. BJP has not given any ticket to Muslim. Whereas Samajwadi Party has fielded maximum 4 Muslim candidates. Apart from this, there are 3 OBC candidates, 2 Dalit candidates while not a single ticket has been given to the upper caste.

Now the voters have to decide whom they will trust this time, whom they will make win and whom they will make to taste defeat.
