Mosque will be built in Beldanga

TMC MLA Humayun Kabir said, “A mosque like Babri Masjid will be built in Murshidabad by 2025.” He said, “This project will be a tribute to the historical mosque that was demolished in Ayodhya in 1992.” He resolved to bring the Muslim community together for the construction of this mosque. He said that this mosque will reflect the aspirations of the 34 percent minority population of the state. Humayun Kabir said, “The mosque will be built in Beldanga.” Let us tell you that Humayun Kabir is the MLA from Bharatpur seat of Muslim dominated Murshidabad district of West Bengal.

BJP-Congress criticized

On this statement of Humayun Kabir, BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari said that this is an attempt to polarize the communities for political gains. He said, “Trinamool is deliberately playing with fire by making such inflammatory statements. We demand an immediate clarification from the Chief Minister.” Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, who hails from Murshidabad, has also criticized this statement. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary called it irresponsible and divisive.

Humayun Kabir gave clarification

However, later when this statement was criticized, MLA Humayun Kabir said that the purpose of this project is to respect history. He said, “The aim is not to create division, but to preserve the heritage.” Humayun Kabir said, “I was only expressing the pain felt by Muslims over the demolition of Babri Masjid.
