Ladakh: Kargil Vijay Diwas
The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas in Ladakh on 26 July. Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor and retired Brigadier BD Mishra on Sunday reviewed the preparations made for the Prime Minister’s visit. Let us tell you that India won the war with Pakistan in the year 1999. This year is the silver jubilee of the victory of the Indian Army.
The program will be held in Drass
On the occasion of the silver jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a grand celebration will be held in Drass in Kargil district in Ladakh from July 24 to 26. PM Modi will visit the Kargil War Memorial on July 26 and attend the celebrations organized on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
What will be the schedule?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will land at Drass Brigade Helipad in Ladakh on the morning of 26 July. Here he will be welcomed by army officers. After this, Prime Minister Modi will rest in a cabin before leaving for the Kargil War Memorial. Then from Drass helipad, he will attend the wreath-laying ceremony to be given to the martyrs amid tight security.
PM will talk to the wives of martyrs
PM Modi will visit Shaheed Marg (Wall of Fame). He will sign the visitor’s book and inspect the museum of artifacts of the Kargil war. After this, PM Modi will interact with ‘Veer Naris’ (wives of soldiers martyred in the war) and visit Veer Bhumi. After this, PM Modi will digitally inaugurate the Shinku La tunnel.
