Jhansi: A massive fire broke out in the infant ward of Jhansi Medical College on Friday night. So far 10 children have died in the accident. Late on Friday night, 10 newborn babies died due to scorching and suffocation due to a massive fire in the SNCU ward of the neonatal intensive care unit of Maharani Lakshmi Bai Medical College. Parents of newborns are also pleading to save their newborns. In the initial investigation, it is being said that it was a cylinder blast.

Commissioner and DIG will investigate the matter
On the instructions of CM Yogi, Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak and Principal Secretary Health have left for Jhansi. The Commissioner and DIG have been instructed to investigate the incident and submit a report to the CM within twelve hours.

Pregnant women were also taken away by their family members. At present there is complete darkness in the medical college. Nothing is visible due to smoke. According to the information, on Friday night at around 11.30 pm, people suddenly started screaming from the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of the Medical College, picked up their newborn children from the bed and started running out. People said that there was a lot of smoke.
