Jhansi: A massive fire broke out in the infant ward of Jhansi Medical College on Friday night. So far 10 children have died in the accident. While the condition of five children is said to be critical. The rescue team is engaged in rescue. About 47 newborns were admitted in the ward. Late on Friday night, 10 newborn babies died due to scorching and suffocation due to a massive fire in the SNCU ward of the neonatal intensive care unit of Maharani Lakshmi Bai Medical College. There were 47 newborns admitted in the ward where the fire broke out.
31 newborn babies were saved
Till the time of writing the news, 31 newborns had been taken out from the ward. As soon as information about the accident was received, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. The army was also called. Army and fire brigade vehicles are busy extinguishing the fire. There is chaos in the hospital premises due to the death of ten newborns. Parents of newborns are also pleading to save their newborns. In the initial investigation, it is being said that it was a cylinder blast.

CM Yogi expressed grief
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the Jhansi fire incident. CM Yogi has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased children. Chief Minister Yogi has instructed the officials to immediately reach the spot and speed up the relief work. CM Yogi has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured.
Commissioner and DIG will investigate the matter
On the instructions of CM Yogi, Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak and Principal Secretary Health have left for Jhansi. The Commissioner and DIG have been instructed to investigate the incident and submit a report to the CM within twelve hours.

It is being told that many patients have been rescued from the hospital. Those who are injured will be shifted to another hospital. Other patients are also being removed from there.
There was screams and stampede due to fire in the hospital
It is being told that there was a stampede due to fire in Jhansi Medical College late at night. People hurriedly picked up their children from their beds and started running away. Pregnant women were also taken away by their family members. At present there is complete darkness in the medical college. Nothing is visible due to smoke. According to the information, on Friday night at around 11.30 pm, people suddenly started screaming from the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of the Medical College, picked up their newborn children from the bed and started running out. People said that there was a lot of smoke.
