Devotees are also pledging cleanliness in Mahakumbh. Lucknow has a population of 45,89,838 based on the 2011 census. On an average, two thousand metric tonnes of garbage is coming out every day. At the same time, Kanpur has a population of 45,81,268. On an average, 11 hundred and fifty metric tons of garbage is coming out here.
