Farmers of Punjab sitting at Shambhu border, demanding implementation of MSP and other demands, postponed their march to Delhi till Sunday. Farmers have given the government an ultimatum for talks today.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the doors of farmer groups are open for talks. If the central government invites talks, then steps can be taken towards resolving the demands. Pandher said that BJP leaders will be surrounded in Punjab on Saturday and farmers will once again leave for Delhi march on Sunday.
Earlier on Friday, the farmers who had proceeded to march to Delhi could not enter the Haryana border. At Haryana-Punjab border Shambhu, Haryana Police and paramilitary forces stopped them from moving forward. This led to a clash between the police and the farmers which lasted for about two and a half hours. In this confrontation, the police had to use pepper spray and tear gas shells, in which 15 farmers were injured. The condition of 26 year old farmer Harpreet Singh is critical. Six Haryana Police personnel were also injured.
