India has set a target of 357 runs to win in front of England with Shubman Gill’s century and Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer’s half -centuries. The Indian team was all out for 356 runs in 50 overs. This is the second highest score made in ODIs in Ahmedabad. Spinner Adil Rashid took the highest number of four wickets for England. For India, Gill scored 112 runs off 102 balls with the help of 14 fours and three sixes, while Shreyas scored 78 runs and Kohli scored 52 runs. KL Rahul, who landed at number five, was dismissed for 40 runs.
England won the toss and invited India to bat first. Captain Rohit Sharma, who scored a century in the last match, was dismissed cheaply in this match, but Gill and Kohli first handled India, then Shubman, along with Shreyas, had a century partnership for the third wicket. When Shubman and Shreyas were batting, it seemed that the team would be successful in reaching the score of 400 runs, but after the dismissal of these two batsmen, England managed to return to some extent.
Rahul, who landed at number five, also showed strength in this match, but he missed out on scoring a half -century. The lower order batsmen could not make useful contribution, but the Indian team managed to cross the 350 mark. Apart from Rashid, Mark Wood took two wickets for England, while Saqib Mahmood, Gas Atkinson and Joe Root got one wicket each.
