Srinagar: Helping terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir has proved costly for their helpers. The National Investigation Agency i.e. NIA on Friday attached the property of the main accused in an encounter related case. Let us tell you that in this encounter, one terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba was killed, while 4 security personnel were martyred. This encounter between security forces and terrorists took place on 13 September 2023 in Guri Nad of Gadole forest area of Kokernag.
19 marla land attached in Halpora
In this encounter with terrorists, Army’s 19 Rashtriya Rifles Unit Commanding Officer Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Jammu and Kashmir Police Deputy SP Humayun Bhat and another soldier were martyred. In this operation that lasted for a week, the army had killed Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Uzair Khan. Officials said that in a case related to the attack, the NIA has attached 19 marla land in Halpora area of Kokernag in South Kashmir district. According to reports, this property belongs to Mohammad Akbar Dar, a helper of terrorists, resident of Halpora.
Dar was arrested on 20 September
According to NIA, Dar had helped slain terrorist Uzair Khan. He had provided logistics support, shelter, food and intelligence to the terrorist. The agency said that this property has been attached under sub-section (1) of Section 25 of UAPA. According to the NIA, Dar was arrested on September 20, 2023, after 40 AK-47 bullets and other incriminating material were recovered from his house. The agency said that a charge sheet was filed against Dar in March 2024 in the special court of NIA in Jammu under various sections of the then Indian Penal Code (IPC), Armed Act and UAPA. (Language)
