Govt Inks RS 2500 Crore Contracts for Nag Missile System Tracked Version, Light Vehicles – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

To increase the operations of the army, the Central Government on Thursday signed two contracts worth Rs 2,500 crore. One of these contracts is for the purchase of anti-tank weapon platform Nag missile system (NAMIS) and the other for light vehicles for armed forces. These contracts are made under the category of bye (Indian-Swadeshi design, developed and manufactured). The Ministry of Defense said that the signature occurred in the presence of Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

According to the ministry, a contract was signed with Armard Vehicle Corporation Limited for the NAMIS Tracked version, which costs Rs 1,801.34 crore. Apart from this, a contract was signed for about 5,000 light vehicles with Force Motors Limited and Mahindra & Mahindra Limited.

NAMIS Track is the state-of-the-art anti-tank weapon system

The NAMIS Track, developed by DRDO’s Defense Research and Development Laboratory, is a state-of-the-art anti-tank weapon system, equipped with fire-end-Fargate missiles and advanced siting systems against enemy armored vehicles. This will prove to be a milestone in modernization of mechanized infantry and will increase the strength of the army in all types of campaigns. Light vehicles on the other hand are designed with modern technology. These include 800 kg weight carrying capacity and powerful engines for mobility in all areas. These vehicles will provide assistance to the armed forces in every operational situation.
