Ohio (USA). Before the swearing-in of America’s newly elected President Donald Trump, there is great news for Hindus living around the world. The US state of Ohio has designated October as Hindu Heritage Month. This decision of Ohio is going to make the whole of India proud. Let us tell you that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed a bill to designate October as “Hindu Heritage Month” in the American state.
On Wednesday, the bill proposed by DeWine was also signed by former state senator Neeraj Antani. He was the main sponsor and proponent of this legislation last year. The bill was signed in the presence of several other community leaders from the state. “I am very grateful to Governor DeWine for signing this bill to designate October as Hindu Heritage Month in Ohio,” Antani said.
The bill will become effective in 90 days
Governor DeWine has long had a close relationship with the Hindu community across Ohio, and I am grateful for his leadership, Antani said. “After two long years of work, I am extremely happy that I could achieve this feat for my community,” he said. The bill is now officially a law and will go into effect in 90 days. October will then be Ohio’s first official Hindu Heritage Month starting in 2025. (input ap)
