Vandana Kataria, the legendary player of the Indian women’s hockey team, announced his retirement on Tuesday. Vandana has played more than 300 international matches for India. She scored a hat -trick against South Africa in Tokyo Olympics 2020, after which she became the first female player to do so.
Vandana hails from Roshanabad in Haridwa. He has been in discussion with his game since he has played a great game in Junior World Cup 2013. He scored the highest five goals for India in the World Cup.
India won the bronze medal at the Junior World Cup 2013. After this performance, she got a chance to play in the Indian women’s hockey team. Playing for India, he won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games.
After this, the 2018 Asian Games won silver and Bronze medal in 2023. Vandana won the gold medal at the Asian Champions Trophy 2016 as the captain. Silver was captured in 2018. After which he was also given the title of Player of the Tournament. The 2022 also won the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games. India finished fourth in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Vandana played a very important role in this.
After this, Vandana was also honored with many awards for contributions and best games in Indian hockey. During this, he was honored with the Arjuna Award in 2021. After this, he was also given the verse Shri in 2022.
