Soldiers have killed two Naxalites in an encounter between security forces and armed Naxalites in Basaguda area of Bijapur. At the same time, the soldiers recovered explosives along with a 12 bore gun.

According to the information received from the police, on the information about the presence of Naxalites involved in the killing of villagers in Basaguda Tarrem area recently, a joint team of DRG, Cobra, 168 Vahini reached Nendra last night.
Had set out on an anti-Naxal operation towards Punnur. During the operation, there was an encounter between the police and Naxalites on Friday morning.
Two Naxalites were killed in this encounter. After the encounter, during the search by the soldiers from the spot, 2 nos. 12 bore single short guns, 1 country made gun, Cordex wire, five kg tiffin bomb, printer, Naxal uniform and other Naxalite material have been recovered. Identification and legal action is being taken by Basaguda police station against the Naxalites killed in the encounter.
