The derogatory comment controversy between senior Karnataka BJP leader CT Ravi and Congress leader Lakshmi Hebbalkar is showing no sign of stopping. While on one hand the Karnataka government has ordered a CID investigation into this matter, on the other hand a delegation of BJP leaders met Governor Thawarchand Gehlot on Tuesday. During the meeting, BJP leaders raised the demand for an impartial investigation against CT Ravi.

Let us tell you that BJP leader Ravi is accused of saying derogatory words against Hebbalkar in the Legislative Council on December 19. He was then arrested and taken in a Belagavi police van.
CID investigation orders
According to the information, Home Minister G Parameshwara said that when the investigation is going on, no comment can be made on it, hence the investigation of the case has been handed over to CID. However, BJP leader Ravi denied the allegations and said that if CID investigates, it should be under the supervision of an impartial judge.
BJP leaders requested the Governor
During the meeting with the Governor, BJP leaders requested that Ravi be given proper security and a fair investigation be conducted. Along with this, he alleged that after Ravi’s arrest, the police misbehaved with him. Let us tell you that on December 20, Ravi had accused the police of human rights violation and the Karnataka High Court had ordered his immediate release.
Hebbalkar’s challenge to Ravi
However, the matter escalated day by day to such an extent that now Congress leader Hebbalkar has challenged Ravi. He said that he should come to the religious place and take an oath before God and speak the truth. He said the shrine has historical importance and anyone lying there was warned of dire consequences.
