Vasant Kunj police of South-Western district has deported a Bangladeshi family living in Delhi illegally to Bangladesh. These include husband, wife and their six children. Jahangir, son of Samsul Shaikh, resident of Bangladesh, crossed the border illegally through the forest and entered India a few years ago and then came to Delhi. After staying here for a few years, he went back and crossed the border and came to Delhi with his family through the jungle.

South-Western District Police Deputy Commissioner Surendra Chaudhary said that the team of Vasant Kunj South Police Station Head Inspector Arvind Pratap Singh, ATO Inspector Ratan Singh, SI Upendra, SI Pawan, W/PSI Preeti and Nemi Chand arrested the migrants including Bangladeshi citizens staying illegally. A campaign was started to find out. Inspector Ratan Singh’s team, during the verification campaign, conducted door-to-door verification and examined around 400 families. Verification forms (Form-12) were sent to their respective addresses in West Bengal for verification. A special team was sent to West Bengal.

During interrogation, Jahangir son Samsul Shaikh admitted that he was originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He entered India using jungle paths and express trains. After this he was living in Delhi. After settling in Delhi, he went back to Bangladesh and brought along his wife Pareena Begum and their six children.

Originally described as village Kekarhat, district Madaripur, Bangladesh. Hiding his original identity, he started living in Rangpuri area of ​​South West Delhi. During the verification operation, the police personnel became suspicious of them and upon further interrogation it was found that they were from Bangladesh and had destroyed their Bangladeshi identity cards.
