The AAP has demanded immediate withdrawal of the notification issued to take the user charge for picking up the garbage from the Municipal Corporation Commissioner. In the press conference held on Tuesday, AAP’s MCD in -charge Durgesh Pathak said that the mayor has given a detailed order to the commissioner to immediately cancel the notification of the user charge, but the officials are saying that the BJP has a lot of pressure on them to implement the user charge through house tax.

He said that when you were the government, the garbage was stopped, but on Sunday, the notification was issued to take the user charge without any proposal in the MCD House in a hurry and the mayor without giving any information. On Monday, Mayor Mahesh Dhani issued a detailed order to the commissioner and said that the user charge should be canceled immediately.
At the same time, the mayor said that these users have been charged by the Commissioner and Corporation officials under Solid Waste Management and it has been linked with house tax. It will be taken with house tax every year. This is wrong. We oppose it. This proposal was brought from the Central Government since 2016.
People said-not correct fee recovery even if there is no regular service of auto tipper
The MCD has implemented the user charge on the service of garbage from door to door, but the reality is that people in many areas are not getting this service either on time or auto tipper does not come for many days. Their route and time are also not fixed. In such a situation, the question is arising in the minds of the people that when there is no regular service, then what is the justification for charging the fee. People say that in many areas of the city, the garbage auto tippers are sometime and never.
Actually, MCD gets garbage through private companies. Companies have installed 2500 auto tippers to collect garbage from homes, while Delhi has about 40 lakh houses which leads to daily garbage. In such a situation, if calculated, every tipper should pick up garbage from 1600 houses per day, which is practically not possible. This is the reason that this service is available only once a week. An auto tipper is able to collect only 250 houses in a day.
