The video of a policeman raising hands on a female farmer on social media is viral since the action taken by the police on the farmers sitting on the Punjab-Haryana Seema (Shambhu border and Khanouri border).
Boom, in its investigation, found that the viral video was of farmers’ demonstration against land acquisition on 18 May 2023 in Gurdaspur, Punjab. The policeman slapped the female farmer after the team went to acquire the land acquisition.
The Punjab Police has started removing the farmers sitting on the protest from Shambhu and Khanouri border for the last 13 months, including the guarantee of MSP. During this time there has been a clash between farmers and police. The Punjab Police has also done bulldozer action to remove the tents and tents of the farmers.
A Facebook user shared the video and wrote, ‘Kejriwal’s Punjab Police giving MSP to the female farmer, but the dictator is Modi ji, brother’.

To check the viral video, we searched the video keframe reverse image. During the search, we got an X user’s video uploaded in a full frame on 18 May 2023.
According to the information available in the caption, farmers were protesting against land acquisition in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, during which a soldier of Punjab Police slapped the female farmer.

After receiving the hint about the incident from X, we searched Google with the concerned keyword. We received the news report of The print related to viral video.
According to The print report on 18 May 2023, farmers were opposing land acquisition in the case of land acquisition for the Bharatmala project. On May 17, the police lathi -charged the farmers seeking compensation for land acquisition. After this, the farmers had called for stopping the rail on 18 May.
According to the report, when the district administration and police team reached Bhamri village to acquire land for the Delhi-Katra National Highway in Gurdaspur, there was a tussle between the farmers and the administration team. Meanwhile, the policeman slapped the female farmer opposing the land acquisition.
According to the video report of News 24, after the dispute in this case, the policeman who slapped the female farmer was lineening. The Gurdaspur police had also accused the farmers of attacking the police in this case.
