Parliamentary committee will send summons to Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Meta, the parent company of popular social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram. Mark Zuckerberg has given wrong information about the Lok Sabha elections held in India last year, due to which the Lok Sabha committee is going to send him summons. MP Nishikant Dubey, who heads this committee, has given this information. The parliamentary committee says that this information given by the co-founder and CEO of the leading tech and social media company about India’s Lok Sabha elections is completely baseless.

Chairman of the parliamentary committee and MP from Godda, Jharkhand, Nishikand Dubey said on Tuesday, January 14 that our committee will summon Meta in this matter. The image of any democratic country can be tarnished due to this wrong information. MP Nishikant Dubey further said that the institute will have to apologize in front of the Indian Parliament and the citizens of the country.

Actually, while answering a question asked in a podcast done with a private channel The Joe Rogan Experience, Mark Zuckerberg had shared this wrong information about the Lok Sabha elections held in India. Responding to this, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said it was wrong. Now the parliamentary committee has decided to summon Mark Zuckerberg and his company Meta in this matter.

Speaking in the podcast, Mark Zuckerberg said that the current Modi government lost the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 because of their poor management during COVID-19. After the reaction of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on this statement, the Parliamentary Committee has decided to summon Meta. The Union Minister has tagged Mark Zuckerberg on both social media platforms X and Facebook.
In the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Zugerberg has mentioned the management during the Corona period as the main reason for the government of India as well as other countries in the world losing elections. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that during Covid, the government worked to provide free ration to 800 million people and 2.2 billion free vaccines, which is an example for the world.
