Trump changed the rules

Some Gurudwaras in New York and New Jersey are believed to be home to Sikh separatists and illegal immigrants. In the previous Biden government, there were such rules that immigration and border security inspection agencies could not take action in places of worship, schools etc. However, Donald Trump has abolished that ban through his executive order. Homeland Security officials say criminals and illegal immigrants will no longer be able to hide in schools, churches or other places of worship.

At the same time, Sikh organizations have started protesting against the raids in Gurudwaras by Homeland Security. In a statement, the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund criticized the searches in sensitive places such as places of worship, schools etc. The organization said that Gurudwaras are not just places of worship but they are community halls, which help Sikhs and other communities. Targeting Gurudwaras in this way will create resentment among the entire Sikh community. Another organization said that monitoring Gurudwaras without or even with a warrant is unacceptable. This is an attack on our faith and religious activities will be affected.

Will impose sanctions on countries that do not cooperate

Speaker of the lower house of the US Parliament, Mike Johnson, has warned that sanctions will be imposed on any country that does not cooperate in taking back its citizens deported from America. It is noteworthy that the Trump government has started deporting illegal immigrants from America. Colombia had earlier refused to take back its citizens, expressing displeasure over the US’s method of sending back its exiled citizens. After which the Trump government directed to impose 25 percent tariff on Colombia, then the Colombian government took a U-turn and decided to take back its deported citizens.
