The film ‘Riwas’ has been released on Zee5.

On 24 September 1982, a film was released in theaters, which was not easy for Banana makers. The name of this film was ‘Nikah’, in which Raj Babbar was seen in the lead role. There was a lot of controversy across the country about this film. Later, this film emerged as a Cult Classic. However, even after this film, many such films were made which were based on triple talaq. Now 43 years after ‘Nikah’, another film is made which is based on triple talaq and the makers are made with stars like Bollywood veteran Mithun Chakraborty, Aftab Shivdasani and Jaya Prada, named ‘custom’.

The film ‘Riwas’ has been released on OTT platform G5 instead of theaters. The story of this film is of a woman whom her husband divorces through speed post. After that the whole story of that woman’s struggle is shown. So let’s first tell you about the story of the film. This is the story of Zainab (Myra Sarin). Zainab is a brave girl who challenges the old customs. Zainab gets married under the pressure of society, but the relationship that starts with an agreement soon turns into a bad dream. Her husband Hanif (Aftab Shivdasani) and her family hurt her a lot. She is stuck in household chores every day and to bear the pain quietly.

In the film, Zainab’s mother-in-law secretly gets her abortion done and one day Zainab decides to go to her parents’ house, but she is unaware that her husband Hanif will send her three divorce notice after her maternal uncle. Then something similar happens that Hanif divorces him through speed post and breaks his whole relationship with him. After that Zainab does not give up and after the broken heart and deception, Zainab decides to fight back, but in the meantime he has to listen to the taunts of the law, society and his own people. When she is about to give up, she meets Supreme Court lawyer Ramadan Qadir (Mithun Chakraborty) who comes forward to help her. After that, for what happens next, you have to watch the whole film yourself, but it is certain that the struggle of Zainab shown in the film will make you emotional.

At the same time, Jakir Hussain’s roles as Jaya Prada and anti -lawyer as a worker are small, but quite powerful. Talking about acting, Myra Sarin has done a good job in her debut film. You will like their pair with Aftab. Aftab is a great actor. He is known for playing any character well and his acting is also commendable. Now if Mithun Chakraborty is talked about, then anyone can emphasize him in the entire film. With his entry in the film, the story starts moving firmly.

If you talk about shortcomings, then the pace of the film along with music is its weak side. In the first half, you can be a bit bored, because its speed is a bit slow, but the film seems to be gaining momentum back in the second half. The film needed a song that could connect people with the story of the film. Manoj Sati’s work can be liked in direction. He has shown every small things with big barricades. Overall, you can watch this film with your entire family sitting at home. I have 3 stars from my side.
