A heart-wrenching incident took place on Monday in Kitarpura village of Sarund police station area of Kotputli district of Rajasthan, when a three and a half year old girl fell into a borewell. This incident happened at around 3 pm on Monday when the girl slipped and fell into an open borewell in the field of Bhupendra Chaudhary while playing. The depth of the borewell is 150 feet and relief and rescue operations are underway to save the girl.
Rescue operations continue on war footing
Sarund police station area police officer Mohammad Imran said that teams of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are working on war footing to rescue the girl. NDRF Senior Commandant Yogesh Meena informed that ring rod and umbrella techniques were used on the first day, but there was no success in taking the girl out of the borewell. After this, on Tuesday, the rescue team tried to pull the girl out using L-band (a desi jugaad made of iron plate).
Hopes pinned on the rescue team
After the incident, a team of administrative officials has also reached the spot to control the situation and expedite the rescue work. The rescue team has also inserted an oxygen pipe in the borewell, so that fresh air can be supplied to the girl. State-of-the-art technologies and equipment are being used in the rescue work. Regarding this rescue operation, local people and people of surrounding areas are also cooperating in the relief work. The concerns and hopes of the girl’s family and local residents rest on the rescue team.
A few days ago, a five-year-old child had fallen into a borewell in Dausa district. Relief and rescue operations went on for more than 55 hours to bring the child out safely, but unfortunately he could not be saved and he lost the battle of life.
