What is the claim?
A video is going viral on social media describing the train accident that took place near Lalgarh railway station in Bikaner, Rajasthan. In the video, a train bogie is seen derailing and climbing on top of another bogie, and many rescue workers are seen engaged in rescue work.

However, our investigation revealed that the video is actually of a mock drill organized by the Railway Department at Lalgarh station yard in Bikaner division and not of the actual accident.

Reverse image searching of the keyframes of the viral video yielded several news reports which confirmed that the video depicts a mock drill exercise conducted at Lalgarh station yard in Bikaner division.
one such video us 24 news rajasthan (archive Here)’s YouTube channel, which was uploaded on November 14, 2024. Its title was- ‘Tragic train collision at Bikaner railway station! Mock Drill,’ which confirms that both the videos relate to the same incident.

Prabhat News, Bhaskar And IANS (archive Here And Here) in videos uploaded by news outlets have also described the incident as a mock drill by the railway department.

It consisted of two rail coaches, one of which was partially placed on top of the other. The exercise lasted for more than two hours and involved teams from State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF), health administration and other civil rescue agencies.
Bhupesh Yadav, senior DCM of Bikaner division of North Western Railway, confirmed to Logically Facts that no actual injuries occurred during the exercise.
