Gang rape in Odisha
A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Bisra police station area of Rourkela district of Odisha. Six people living in Bankutola and Jamberna villages of Teterkela Gram Panchayat of Bisra police station area have been arrested on charges of gang rape. This incident occurred during a cultural program organized in the village. The police have arrested all the accused. The names of the arrested accused are Hullas Mundari, Buda Oram, Anand Oram, Abhishek Mahato, and Mangalnath Oram and Sanjay Oram.

This incident has created an atmosphere of panic in the area and the police is investigating the matter in depth. The administration has appealed to the people to maintain peace. According to the information, like every year, this year also a typical Nagpuri dance and music program was organized in Teterkela village on the night of Thursday 16th January. Thousands of people from surrounding areas participated in this program. While people were enjoying the event, this hair-raising incident happened. Six people together raped the minor girl.
Police said something
The police showed promptness and arrested all the six accused. A case has been registered against them and they have been arrested under Section 70(2) of BNS and POCSO Act.
Rourkela Superintendent of Police Nitesh Wadhwani said, “We got the information and within three hours we arrested the three accused and within a short time the rest were also arrested. The girl along with a friend was at a fair near her village. When they were sitting outside that fair place, some drunken miscreants started molesting the girl, and immediately her friend came and informed us about this incident. Told that our team immediately reached the spot. The incident took place on the late night of 16th and 17th.
