National Games 2025: Odisha government’s gift to players, will give cash prize to state players who win medal

The Odisha government has announced a cash prize for the state medal winners at the 38th National Games concluded on Sunday in Uttarakhand. Odisha players won a total of 46 medals including 14 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. The state finished 12th in the medal table.
To encourage state players, the Odisha government has announced a cash prize of Rs 6 lakh for gold medalists, Rs 4 lakh for silver medalist and Rs 3 lakh for bronze medal winners. Odisha Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj said that, Odisha has made a mark in the National Games and he was among the top 15 states in the medal table. Winning 46 medals including 14 gold is an important achievement. I heartily congratulate all the players.
The army has a total of 121 i.e. 68 gold, 26 silver and 27 bronze medals. He was second after Maharashtra at the 2023 National Games in Goa. Prior to this, four consecutive national sports were at the top. Maharashtra won 198 medals but had 54 gold, 71 silver and 73 bronze. Haryana had 48 gold, 47 silver and 58 bronze.
After Uttarakhand, now the next National Games will be held in 2027, which will be hosted in Meghalaya. Conrad Sangma, the Chief Minister of this northeast state, who hosted in the year 2027, was handed over the flag of the 39th National Games by Home Minister Amit Shah. On this occasion, the Home Minister also announced that national game competitions will also be held in seven other states of Meghalaya to promote the game.
