13 people died in a fire in a firecracker factory on Tuesday in Banaskantha district of Gujarat. Four others were injured in the accident. Officials said several explosions occurred after the fire. Because of this, some parts of the factory located near Deesa town collapsed. Many workers are feared trapped in the debris.

Inspector Vijay Chaudhary of Deesa Rural Police Station said that the firefighters of Deesa Municipality are trying to save the workers trapped in the debris. There is no perfection in the rescue work. Earlier, a district administration official had said that the death of three people had been confirmed. Six other injured have been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment.
Banaskantha Collector Mihir Patel said, ‘This morning we received information about a major explosion in the industrial area of Deesa. The fire department reached the spot and controlled the fire. He then spoke about the death of seven workers at the scene. However, now this figure has increased. The injured workers have been referred to different hospitals. The explosion was so tremendous that the slab of the factory collapsed. We are conducting a search operation to save anyone buried under the rubble.
Cuttack shopping mall caught fire, no casualties
Meanwhile, a shopping mall in Cuttack, Odisha caught fire on Tuesday, in which valuables worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes. Later firefighters controlled the fire. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. Although the exact cause of the fire is not yet known, it is suspected that the air conditioner will have a fire due to a short circuit.
