Country India’s leading automobile company Mahindra & Mahindra expanded its EV portfolio by launching two new models on Tuesday. Mahindra launched the BE 6e and XEV 9e at a launch event in Chennai. However, both these new models will take some time to reach the market. The company says that deliveries of BE 6e and XEV 9e will start in February-March next year. While on one hand the starting ex-showroom price of BE 6e will be Rs 18.9 lakh, on the other hand the starting ex-showroom price of XEV 9e will be Rs 21.9 lakh.
XEV 9e launched with SUV-coupe design
Launched on the ‘INGLO’ platform, this new lineup marks a new change in Mahindra’s electric mobility strategy. The ‘INGLO’ platform has been used in both these SUVs of Mahindra, which is a flat-floor skateboard design. The design aims to increase cabin space by eliminating the central tunnel. The platform integrates high-density battery technology, providing efficiency and range optimization. Keeping in view the current trend, Mahindra has introduced its XEV 9e model with SUV-coupe design, which will be seen on the roads with aerodynamic wheels.
How many kilometers of range will Mahindra’s electric car give on a single charge?
Mahindra & Mahindra Executive Director Rajesh Jejurikar said that the prices of other variants of these two models will be announced later. According to Mahindra & Mahindra, the BE 6e will offer a range of 682 km on a single charge while the XEV 9e can cover a range of 656 km on a single charge. Let us tell you that at present the only electric car of Mahindra available on the roads is XUV 400.
Company will invest Rs 12,000 crore in electric vehicle business
Mahindra & Mahindra, famous worldwide for its powerful SUVs, has committed to invest more than Rs 12,000 crore in its electric vehicle business. The company is setting up a brand new manufacturing line for electric vehicles at its Chakan plant with an installed annual capacity of 1.2 lakh units.
