Mumbai Police has cracked a case of theft of jewelery worth lakhs and arrested two accused. The special thing is that the police revealed this incident of robbery with the help of a special bag. In fact, the bag full of jewelery that the thieves had looted had a GPS tracking chip installed in it. With the help of this GPS tracking chip and CCTV footage, the police was successful in reaching the accused.

According to media reports, the incident took place on Monday night, when a man along with his nephew was traveling on a two-wheeler carrying jewelery worth about Rs 42 lakh in a bag. As soon as both of them reached D-Mello Road near St. George Hospital, four unknown people stopped them and beat them badly. After this, the four accused looted her bag full of jewelery and ran away. The victims said in their complaint that one of the accused allegedly opened fire on the two and snatched a bag full of gold jewelery and ran away with his associates.

Accused caught because of bag

The robbers also opened fire while escaping, in which the victim’s nephew was injured. After this the victims lodged a complaint with the police. Police formed several teams to nab the accused. Police said that the bag which was looted had a special GPS chip installed in it. With the help of this chip and CCTV footage, the police reached these robbers. Police caught one accused from Lokmanya Tilak Marg and the other from Dongri area on Tuesday morning. Police have also recovered jewelery worth Rs 16.50 lakh from these accused. Police are still searching for two other accused.
