The viral picture has been edited, in which the word ‘Gujarat’ has been added in place of ‘Maharashtra’ in the original slogan of BJP’s Maharashtra election campaign.

What is the claim?
A picture going viral on social media shows an election campaign advertisement by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra, asking voters to support the Mahayuti alliance for the progress of Gujarat.
Although Gujarat is ruled by BJP, there is no basis to believe that the coming to power of Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra will affect the progress rate of Gujarat.

The viral photo shows the back of a four-wheeler in which Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are prominently seen. The advertisement reportedly reads, ‘BJP-Maha alliance means rapid development of Gujarat’ and also appeals to voters to support the alliance.

However, our investigation revealed that the picture going viral has been edited.
How did we find out the truth?
A careful look at the viral image clearly shows that it has been tampered with – the word “Gujarat” has been added separately, which appears separate from the rest of the sentence. This shows a deliberate change.

By doing a reverse image search, we found the original BJP Maharashtra advertisement, which had the original slogans along with Modi and Fadnavis. local marathi news channel gb news (archive Here) The advertisement concluded with the message: “BJP-Maha alliance means faster development of Maharashtra.” (Marathi: BJP-Mahayuti ahe tar gati ahe Maharashtracha pragati ahe).

Also, Marathi Newspaper superpower also published a similar poster featuring Modi and Fadnavis, with the same slogan emphasizing the progress of Maharashtra along with BJP’s election promise of Rs 1,500 per month for women.

BJP Maharashtra also posted a video on its official YouTube channel. Video (archive Here) posted which included the same slogan, and another election campaign Video (archive Here) ends with the same poster.
The original slogan clearly focused on the progress of Maharashtra and not Gujarat, proving that the viral photo has been manipulated.
