The crowd of devotees returning after bathing in the city side of Prayagraj Junction suddenly increased after 10 pm. If a stampede -like situation occurred at 10.30 pm, the railway administration stopped entering the junction of devotees to ensure that there was no untoward incident.

Because of this, people standing on the road started making noise. Devotees present at the passenger shelter of the junction were seated in a special train. Only then could the situation become normal. During this period, passengers were not admitted to the junction for about 30 minutes.
