What is the claim?
A video of King Charles III is going viral on social media, in which he is seen unveiling a poster of Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, which has the words “terrorist” It is written. Along with this, it has also demanded the immediate arrest of Netanyahu.
Social media users are claiming that European countries have declared Netanyahu a terrorist, a poster of which has also been released.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) posted the video with the caption, “"Europe declared Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu an international terrorist. A big poster of this was unveiled yesterday. Go viral worldwide." Archived versions of these posts here and here view.
This video English, Urdu, Arabic and Tamil has also been shared with the same claim.

However, our investigation revealed that the viral video is edited; In the original video, King Charles is seen unveiling one of his own paintings. It is the first official painting of King Charles, unveiled at Buckingham Palace after his coronation.
How did we find out the truth?
On searching the viral video through reverse image search, we found one uploaded on ‘The Royal Family Channel’ YouTube channel on May 14, 2024 Video (Archive here), in which King Charles can be seen unveiling his portrait. According to the information accompanying the video, King Charles unveiled his first official portrait since his coronation.
This video news agency The Associated Press YouTube channel (archive here) was also shared on May 15, 2024.
On comparing the video found on ‘The Royal Family Channel’ and the YouTube channel of Associated Press with the viral video, it is clear that in place of the poster of King Charles III, the picture and text of Binyamin Netanyahu have been added separately through editing.

BBC published a report about this on May 14, 2024, which stated that the first official portrait of King Charles after his coronation was unveiled at Buckingham Palace. This massive oil on canvas painting depicts a ‘larger-than-life’ King Charles in Welsh Guards uniform. This painting is approximately 8 feet 6 inches long and 6 feet 6 inches wide, which has been created by Jonathan Yeo, who has also painted Tony Blair, Sir David Attenborough and Malala Yousafzai.
