The incident at Anna University has shaken the entire Chennai. The politics of Tamil Nadu has started heating up. Here an engineering student was sexually harassed. The matter came to light when the student herself complained about it to the police. Initially the police took the case lightly and did not take any action. The police came into action when the case surfaced on social media. Police arrested an accused in the case. The 37-year-old accused sells biryani near the university campus. The incident is of 23 December.

The student told that she was talking to her friend in the college campus at around 8 pm on Monday night. Then the accused reached there and sexually assaulted her. The victim lodged a complaint at the Kotturpuram women’s police station and a case was registered, the Greater Chennai Metropolitan Police said in a statement. According to the statement, four special teams have been formed for investigation.
