Sambhal’s Jama Masjid vs Harihar Temple dispute was heard in the court. The Jama Masjid side presented a copy of the Supreme Court order in the local court. The Muslim side said that as per the order of the Supreme Court, no hearing can be held on this matter right now. After which the court fixed the next hearing on March 5.

On Wednesday, in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division Chandausi, Jama Masjid’s advocate Shakeel Warsi presented a copy of the Supreme Court order in the court. After this, the court fixed March 5 as the next date of hearing. During this period, police and PAC were deployed at the District Court for security reasons.
SIT advocates Vishnu Sharma and Shrigopal Sharma said that the copy of the Supreme Court order filed in the court is neither certified nor filed with the affidavit. Advocate Prince Sharma of the state government and DM said that in this order, survey and new scope has been prohibited.
Earlier on January 2, the survey report of Sambhal Jama Masjid was filed in the court by the Court Commissioner. This report was presented in a sealed envelope. The Court Commissioner said that a 43-page survey report has been presented regarding the evidence found in the Shahi Jama Masjid during the survey.
Besides, about 60 photographs were also presented in the court along with the survey report in support of the facts found. On Thursday, an application along with the survey report was given in a closed envelope in the court. In this he cited the dates of the survey and cited ill health as the reason for not filing the report on time.
Also sought permission to take the report on file. On November 19, eight litigants, including Mahant Rishiraj Giri and Harishankar Jain of Kaila Devi Temple, had filed a suit in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division, Chandausi located in Sambhal, regarding the claim of Jama Masjid being Harihar Temple.
