Lisbon: Rahim al-Husaini was nominated on Wednesday as the spiritual leader of millions of Ismaili Shia Muslims in the world i.e. the new Aga Khan. Let me tell you that in the will of Rahim Al-Husaini’s father, he was named as the 50th hereditary Imam Aga Khan Pancham of Ismaili Shia Muslims. Aga Khan IV, who became a spiritual leader of millions of Ismail Muslims worldwide as a Harvard Graduate, died on Tuesday. He was 88 years old. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the death of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV.

The Aga Khan Development Network and the Ismaili religious community announced that the 49th hereditary Imam of Shia Ismaili Muslims, Prince Karim Al-Husaini, Aga Khan IV, died in Portugal. On the official X account of the community, it was written, ‘Prince Rahim al-Husaini Aga Khan is the 50 hereditary Imam of the fifth Shia Ismaili Muslims, which is nominated by Maulana Shah Karim according to the historic Shia Emami Ismaili Muslim tradition and the practice of Nas.’
