Howrah-Mumbai Train (12810) accident in Jharkhand.

The train accidents happening one after another in the country have shocked everyone. Now on Tuesday, news of a train accident has come to light in Chakradharpur, Jharkhand. According to the information, several coaches of 12810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail going from Howrah to Mumbai have derailed. 2 people are reported dead in this train accident while 150 people are reported to be injured. After this accident, the railways has canceled many trains and changed the schedule of many.

How did the accident happen?

According to the information received so far, this train accident happened near pole number 219 near Chakradharpur on the Howrah-Mumbai railway line. It is being said that a goods train had derailed here two days ago, whose wagons were still on the track. At the same time, the Howrah-Mumbai Mail was coming from another track and collided with the coaches already lying on the track.

    • 12021/12022 Howrah Barbil Express

These trains were short terminated

    • 18114 Bilaspur Tata Express is short terminated at Rourkela.
    • 18190 Ernakulam Tata Express is short terminated at Chakradharpur.
    • 18011 Howrah Chakradharpur Express is short terminated at Agra.

rescue work continues

The railways have stopped the movement of trains on the Howrah-Mumbai railway line. Relief trains and engineering department teams have been dispatched from Tatanagar and Chakradharpur stations to investigate the incident. Relief and rescue operations are underway at the spot. The injured passengers have been admitted to RIMS Hospital in Ranchi and government and private hospitals around Chakradharpur.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee questioned the Centre, saying, “I seriously ask: is this governance? This series of nightmares almost every week, this unending procession of deaths and injuries on railway tracks: for how long shall we tolerate this? Will there be no end to the callousness of Government of India?!”
