The International Tennis Federation has announced that this year’s Hopman Cup will be played in Bari, the southern city of Italy. Teams from Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Canada and current champions Croatia will participate in this mixed team tournament. It will be held a week after Wimbledon from 16 to 20 July.
Teams for the Hopman Cup include a male and a female player. One of its matches consists of a male singles match, a female singles match and a mixed doubles match. Players do not get ranking points from this tournament.
In the name of Australia’s great player Harry Hopman, the Hopman Cup began in 1989 and was played every year by 2020. It was first organized for 30 years in the first week of the tennis session in the city of Perth, Australia. It was last held in 2023 in France in which Donna Wikich and Borna Korich of Croatia became champions.
