The first survey of dolphins has been released in the rivers of the country. According to this, there are 6324 dolphins in the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Indus river system in the country and the highest number of 2,397 north of them. This was followed by 2,220 dolphins in Bihar and 815 in West Bengal. Other states recorded 635 in Assam, 162 in Jharkhand, while 95 dolphins were recorded in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Their number was the lowest in Punjab, where only 3 dolphins were found.
