The Kerala court today heard the 2015 drug case and pronounced its verdict. In this drug case, six accused, including ‘Devra’ fame Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, have got relief. In 2015, cocaine was seized from a luxurious flat in Kadwanthra and five people, including Shine Tom Chacko, were arrested. Ernakulam’s first Additional District and Sessions Judge Sulekha M acquitted an actor and four women Reshma Rangaswamy, assistant directors Blassi Sylvester, Tinsi Babu and Sneha Babu in the case.
Nigerian citizens also acquitted
Apart from the actor in the drug case, Nigerian citizen Okowai Chigoi Collins and Tamil Nadu resident Prithvi Raj have also been acquitted by the court. All of them were booked for various offenses under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act. The court said in its brief order, “Chacko and others were not found guilty of crimes punished under the NDPS Act and are acquitted.” However, the detailed order is still awaited. The case is dated January 31, 2015, in which five people, including alleged seizure of cocaine and Chacko, were arrested from a luxurious flat in Kadwanthra.
Who is Shine Tom Chacko?
Shine Tom Chacko mainly works in Malayalam cinema. He started his career as an assistant director. He played the role of a supportive actor in many films. These include ‘E Adutha Kalathu’, ‘Chapter’, ‘Annayam Rasulam’, ‘Masala Republic’ and ‘Jigrathhanda Dubbux’. The actor made his debut in Tamil films with Vijay and Pooja Hegde’s film Raw (Beast). He was last seen in Junior NTR’s Pan India film Devra: Part 1. The 2024 film also featured Bollywood actress Jahwavi Kapoor and actor Saif Ali Khan.
