Delhi election result: Long before the announcement of the assembly elections in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal claimed that if the BJP comes to power, the welfare schemes being run by the Aam Aadmi Party would be closed. Elections were held and now the results have started coming. This time the election results are shocking. Two top level leaders of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have lost their seat.
Not only Kejriwal and Sisodia, even big leaders like Satyendra Jain and Saurabh Bhardwaj are seen struggling. This is a big setback for the Aam Aadmi Party, which has been in power in Delhi for almost a decade. The Bharatiya Janata Party is close to forming the government. Now the people of Delhi are eyeing Kejriwal’s promises, on which the Aam Aadmi Party managed to form such a long government. Will electricity and water bill start coming as soon as BJP wins the assembly elections? Now what will happen to the ‘free seed’ schemes of the Aam Aadmi Party?
Aam Aadmi Party was claiming to discontinue schemes
When the Aam Aadmi Party took over the power of Delhi, it did such experiments, which had not been done in the history of Indian politics yet. Free electricity, free water, free education to free medical facility. The party shed fierce money on these schemes. The Bharatiya Janata Party opposed such schemes as ‘free seed’. These schemes were also made an issue in Delhi elections. After this, the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that if the BJP comes to the government, then such schemes will be closed. Arvind Kejriwal tried hard to create an atmosphere of fear against the BJP among the public on the strength of these ‘free seed’ schemes.
PM Modi had to be confident
In the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party’s plans became such an issue that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had to come forward. During the election campaign, he had to announce from the stage that if the BJP forms the government, no scheme will be discontinued. Even the BJP announced 300 units of free electricity in its manifesto, subsidy of Rs 500 on cylinders to poor families, 2500 per month to women.
Will the bill start coming as soon as BJP government is formed?
Now the question is that what will be the effect on the people of Delhi as soon as the Aam Aadmi Party is out of power. So far, 200 units of electricity and 20 thousand liters of water are free in Delhi. Apart from this, the journey of bus in Delhi is also completely free for women. In such a situation, there is a question in the mind of the public whether these schemes will be stopped. The answer is no. The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced that these schemes will not be discontinued. However, after forming the government, what kind of changes the BJP makes in these schemes will have to be seen. At present, all the schemes will continue as before.
